Speed and power are a coveted combination in skateboarding. Since punching his way into skateboarding's conscious in the late-'90s Anthony Van Engelen's output has been a prime example of both, but his evolution, curation, and ability to turn his skill into impact are what defines "AVE." From his salad days on Channel One into his hyper productive streak with Alien Workshop, AVE's focus and commitment to craft have become the benchmark of modern street skaters. Push like you mean it, all-in effort in every motion, and leave a mark on everything in sight.

A testament to his work ethic, AVE's been able to not only adapt and force his skating forward, but lead and silently innovate. After setting another personal best with this acclaimed part in Alien Workshop's Mind Field (2009), AVE and longtime friend Jason Dill started a new stage in their careers, turning Fucking Awesome into board brand with a deep roster in 2013. Success materialized in FA / Hockey's industry influence, but also with an ending part in Vans' first full-length skate video, Propeller (2015). At an age when many consider a low-impact approach, AVE's full throttle display in Propeller lead to a long deserved Thrasher Skater of the Year award and a well-deserved victory lap.
