The 2015 Vans Hi-Standard snowboard serie kicked off last Saturday January 17th at the Junkyard snowpark of beautiful Mount St-Louis Moonstone, Ontario.
Five dollar bills were flying everywhere as the 84 registered riders were getting paid $ 5 for each styled trick they would land. With $ 2000 up for grabs and $ 500 for the Van Doren Rail Best Trick, good weather and great snowpark conditions, everybody had a good time and a smile on their face.
Congrats to the day’s MVP, Coulton Conway and most improved, Cameron Mcdonalt as well as our Van Doren Best Trick 15 and under winner, Liam Brearely and Van Doren Best Trick 16 and over winner, Ben Poechman for bringing their best style to the hill on this windy day. Special mention also goes to William Buffey, winner of the worst bail award.
At the bottom of the hill, the Custom Culture activation with invited artist Jamez Townsend took place in the resort’s main lodge. Congrats to Ivision Paul who took home the famous Vans Sk8-Hi giant shoe. Outside the lodge, the Vans waffle maker booth was in full effect as everybody was invited to taste our delicious waffles while checking out the 2015-2016 Vans boots collection, displayed right on the spot. Finally, Vans Snow team riders Dillon Ojo and Blair Mckinney were there to interact and ride with the kids.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us for the first stop of the 2015 Vans Hi-Standard serie. Stay tuned for next stop, January 24th at Le Relais, Quebec. - See more here
