Vans Skatepark at The Block in Orange, CA will be hosting the 2nd annual Vital Game of B.I.K.E. on Saturday, October 1st. 28 Pro BMX riders will be competing in a head-to-head competition that will be webcasted live at vitalbmx.com. Spectating is free to the public and the rest of the course not used for the contest will be open to BMX riders all day. Please be aware that skate sessions are canceled on 10/1 at The Block. The Maloof Money Cup presented by Vans has announced the list of pros who will compete in the first-ever Washington, D.C. contest September 3rd-4th at the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds. Skaters who finish in the top 16 based on combined scores from New York and D.C., will earn a spot on the Maloof All Pros, which was started by Joe Maloof this year to recognize the top skateboarders in the world, and send them to the Maloof Money Cup World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa Sept. 28-Oct 2. Tickets are now available for Washington D.C.

Twelve of the best skate teams will be competing at the historic Old Spitalfields Market in London on Saturday, August 20th for their chance to take part in a contest renowned to test skill, flare and creativity. Congrats to Vans Skate Team rider Bucky Lasek for winning the Dew Tour Bowl Invitational in Portland, Oregon this past weekend. Vans celebrated the launch of a special collaboration with art, film and photography icon Dennis Hopper on Thursday, August 11th in NYC. The festivities kicked off at Urban Outfitters' SOHO store where guests previewed the Dennis Hopper Collection by Vans and enjoyed a special screening of a Dennis Hopper tribute film. Over 300 people came out including Hopper's daughter Marin and her family. Afterward the crowd headed over to the Ace Hotel for an after-party hosted by Vans and Monster Children where guests enjoyed tunes by DJ Grandpa and scored free copies of the Hopper retrospective edition of Monster ...

This year, Vans and Spitfire enlisted five legendary skate shops to build their own DIY spots and film 'em in hopes their videos will inspire you to do the same! Watch each shop’s video and vote for your favorite NOT because these shops worked their butts off—they did—against the deadline and against the law, and NOT because the winning shop gets a special Vans x Spitfire team appearance—they do—but because these shops are out there on the front lines, keeping the underground lit! The first international Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational presented by Vans went down July 29 and 30 during the Salinas Longboard Festival, with 16 of the best longboarders in the world riding 12-lb, single fin leashless boards along with some serious style and nose riding all for a $10,000 purse. Friday’s opening rounds saw perfect, glassy 3-4 feet waves and the guys showed a huge variety of stylish, classic maneuvers, while Saturday’s afternoon finals picked up with sets of 5 feet high waves and strong cross winds.
